Swyamvara Parvati Vriksham

There is also a Swayamvara Parvati Vriksham in Koyambedu Vaikunta Vasa Perumal Temple in Chennai. The Temple is located near the famous Sarabeswarar temple in Koyambedu.

The Sthala Vriksham is Neem tree/Veppa Maram with two Vilva Trees/Maram on either side. The Neem Tree is said to be Parvati devi and the Two Vilva Trees are said to be Shiva and Vishnu respectively.

Vishnu being the brother of Parvati devi is said to have conducted the wedding Parvati devi with Shiva.

One should grind turmeric in a grindstone by ourselves into Turmeric powder with our hands. Then take it to this Temple and apply the Turmeric to the Tree from the roots to the Bark of the tree. One should apply kumkumam to the tree. One should light lamps in front of the tree and offer Tamboolam to the tree. Tamboolam is betel leaves, betel nuts with sunnabu or lime. One can also offer flowers, fruits, coconut, bangles along with the Tamboolam. One should perform Pradakshina around the tree in the same fashion for 48 days.
